I never set out to be a chef, a food educator or even work with food. It kind of just happened and has been something that has stayed consistent in my life, since my first catering job when I was 14 years old.
Since then I have worked in almost every area of the industry – from cafes, restaurants, schools, festivals, events, hospitality and even well known fast food outlets (in my younger years!).
It was through Yoga that I really came to understand food and more importantly nutrition. Yoga has also opened my eyes to how food affects every level of our being. This is something that really blew my mind and sent me on a journey of reeducation that has been a big focus in my life over the past 17 years.
Discovering knowledge later in life, that I feel should be part of basic education, is what drives me and motivates me to share with others.
This led to me to specialise in catering for retreats and I have cooked for many different kinds of retreats worldwide. I have also facilitated many of my own, in addition to teaching workshops and training courses. This has been an amazing opportunity to connect with a diverse range of people and refine my craft along the way.
Creating The Holistic Kitchen Academy with the team is a way of celebrating collaboration. I believe that together we are powerful, that we have to live the change we want to see in the world and that each day we make our vote and express our voice through the choices we make.
My wish is for this to be a resource that empowers and supports people, that gives something back and offers value and inspiration.
